Our Story
Most people agree that Rent Regulation is the bedrock of Affordable
Housing across New York City and State. Others argue that nearly 80% of
the tenants living in Regulated Apartments are not aware of their
specific Rights which are protected under the Rent laws – leaving the
tenants vulnerable to abuse, overcharge, and outright harassment by
some landlords.
The Tenants-Forum is a platform which puts all the Rights of Regulated
Tenants in the palm of their hands – an interactive space where Tenants-
Rights meet the Community.

Our mission is to present all the nuances of Tenants Rights which are protected under the Rent Laws in a simple Questions-&-Answers Plata, accessible enough to empower tenants within minutes, while connecting them to the already-existing Supportive Community of Tenant-Organizations, Neighborhood Housing Services, and Free Legal Aid for assistance.

Our vision is to foster a space that transcends information, offering

to encourage a supportive environment for tenants to share
experiences, seek guidance, and build a stronger, and more
informed community. With a dedication to simplicity and
accessibility, we have made it easy for Regulated tenants to
conveniently navigate their tenancy with knowledge, transforming
challenges into confidence in the Rent Laws, and proper trust in the
processing Agencies - such as DHCR, HPD, and the DOB.
